I have used this platform as demo. It is an eye-catching platform. I have fun but do not intend to trade live on this platform.

Comment on ThinkorSwim.com

In my thinkorswim experience (2008), you cannot trade with stops because the dealing desk (Penson GHCO) will pick them off as the opportunity presents itself. If you can't trade fx with stops, you must either be glued to the computer or be prepared for massive losses. Furthermore, the TOS fx interface has numerous weird bugs that will cause you to lose confidence in their proprietary software.

The previous review sounds like an advertisement written by TOS. Whatever positives they have are obliterated by the negatives detailed above. Avoid.

Comment on Oanda.com

Never used Oanda personally, I am a Tech freak and the comments i have read above were the reason why I chose another. I am with ACM, fantastic technical graphs, I can set them up and adjust them as I require, as for the news time trading, my platform has never let me down, I am able to place and close positions/orders during this period. I am aware that many traders using Metatrader platforms do not experience this luxury.

Comment on Ac-markets.com

For Vassilis, regarding trading small lots, I had asked for small lot sizes, 10K, and it was granted to me for my $12,000 account,(I have 2 accounts) but of course you have to remember that mini account spread conditions will then apply. All in all I have been happy with our relationship since I opened over a year back.

Comment on Cmcmarkets.com

I am trading with Nat West Index who are basically using CMC as a route into the trading market (I suspect that they have one desk in the CMC office as I always seem to speak to the same person;). Charting software is a cut-down version of Pro Realtime. Pro Realtime is excellent software, free for EOD info but monthly charge for streaming data. Unfortunately, whilst the cut down version is perfectly adequate, it has lost some of the good features of the full spec version. I agree with the above comment that the full MT4 package is better than this version but I prefer the full spec Pro Realtime to MT4 - horses for courses I guess.
Don't try trading the news! It took over 5 minutes(!!) for an order to fill once. I had cancelled it after 30 secs when the price peaked and fell back but they filled my order some 4.5 mins later at the peak level causing me an instant loss of 50 pips. Another time a software glitch showed a live position that I had closed. I 're-closed' it, which actually created a new long position in a falling market! On both of these occasions Nat West Index refunded me my losses but it made me wary of Forex trading with them.
On a positive note, good spreads (which don't vary), fine for trading stocks and indices though a bit limited (i.e they quote 'UK 100' which is the same value as the FTSE 100 but they don't quote FTSE 250, 350 etc.)
Reference comment about difficult to use - it isn't if you have a little experience of trading - in fact I find it quite intuitive and logical; however - unless you have created linked orders, you must remember to close any associated orders (stop loss, limit orders etc) otherwise these will remain as pending orders after your open order has been closed (though it does flag up a reminder when you do close an order)!
The positive side to this is that you can create multiple orders or positions on a single instrument - something not possible on some of the 'easier' or less complex platforms.
All in all, not bad but could improve.

Comment on Oanda.com

Been using Oanda for 7 months, prior with ACM. Cannot beat Oanda's spread on EUR/USD, but their charting is too simple, still using ACM's charting which is far superior. Too few options for order strategies; market and limit orders only. If not for Oanda's spread I would still be with ACM.

Comment on Oanda.com

Oanda is the only retail forex broker .

Comment on crownforex.com

I am also disappointed with Crown for the same reasons. I liked the 1 pip spread however prefer to find a more credible broker. Have traded securities and fx for 4 yrs with them - but found real unexpected surprises with large slippage and extremely slow action at critical moments - no good for scalping or quick trades, but great in offering a very wide selection of fx as well as securities and futures; well organised and easy to find and use. For forex only there are better platforms to work with the fast market characteristics - this is why I have closed my account for the tie being.

Comment on Interbankfx.com

I have withdrawn money without problems. It have taken from 3 to 4 days. They do seem to chase stops at times, but I guess they all do unless they offer ECN feed. I'll stick with them for now.
